30 years

30 years is a lifetime,
a time of years
swimming, singing
laughing, oh yes I have
laughed, have you?
What a silly question
of course you have
watching me
being silly.
I don't know
if I have missed you, always
sometimes ~ but is it just
retrospective.
Ok, yes I have
I am a curmudgeonly person,
I have missed you
I've missed our young skin
and staying up all night,
I've missed not going to
the club and jamming
and missing notes
and leaving rings
on a piano top and
I have missed it all.
So I just wanted to say
I have missed it
the fun, being young
being silly, having sex
falling in a laundry basket,
wearing a stupid basque
that cut and you laughed
and I damn well did too.
30 years, fuck, where did
it go?

Emma we can all look in a mirror and smile as those thoughts and memories run through our heads.
Aah where have all those years gone. Gone they have and we can't ever get them back, but we have the memories for a while longer...Tony (potleek)

I read this earlier, Emma, and had to give up before getting to respond,
but much enjoyed this retrospective little rant/ponder, lol, and smiled at your closure...

30 years ago I was still more than half my present age so looking back takes a while, lol,
but how worth the memories all those years have been...and the ones before, smiley8 Zy x

Emma I ask myself the same question all the time, 30 years ago I had a more youthful mind and body... I look in the mirror now and wonder what the F*&K happened..

I love this one because all the way through I was nodding my head in agreement with your words.. its brilliant

Hi Emma,

unfortunately, the memory is not as clear as it used to be for me, haha,
wait for the next 30 years and see what I mean smiley8

But I did enjoy reading this, like Vicki, I smiled and nodded in a few places
and like Les, echo your closure's sentiments and it passes even quicker with age,

David
