Alone in a Crowd

Ever walking in the wood
never alone as life surrounds
forever breaking solitude.

Drifting only as lonesome could
leaves will crumble underground
ever walking in the wood.

Nature makes one feel so good
yet still there comes that eerie sound
forever breaking solitude.

"Was that me?" I hear me say
the footsteps follow where I stood
"Are they coming down this way?"

Nature whispering at play
so much still misunderstood
forever breaking solitude

Ever walking in the wood
never feelings of dismay
when silent life gives life away
forever breaking solitude

Hy, sorry,  I didn't know you'd been in to this one, Maria, many thanks,

I do enjoy the challenge of the villanelle...tricky but fun,

am just checking to see which format I haven't done for a while, Zy x
