Lil was Tommy's mother. She was in turmoil. She knew Tommy's dad had gone underground, doing covert work for
his government.
She didn't speak of it to her son, he was too young to understand the gravity of the situation. It could become
dangerous for them, if it leaked out. They had to remain invisible; nothing could be divulged. Lil just told Tommy that his dad was missing in action.
When Tommy came home that day, excited as could be. He told his mom about the guy in the park. Oh no, she thought, they were found out. They might have to move. She felt apprehension, sad, for Tommy was happy with their present situation.
She was afraid to ask, but did. "What he look like Tommy? Was he tall, short, fat?" She made light of it. Fearing the
truth.
"I donno, I couldn't tell. He was sittin on the park bench, looking lonely and sad. So I gave him part of my lunch. You
don't mind mom? I wanted to help the poor guy out."
"No, of course not, I am glad you helped him. He must have been hungry."
"Know what, Mom? I asked him to move in with us, stay in the shop that dad had. I didn't think you'd mind."
She almost fainted at the thought, what if he was the enemy, what could she do to defend her and the boy? "What did he say, Tommy?"
"Oh, he just said you'd probably throw him out. Would you mom? I hope he finds a place, it's getting cold out there."
She was relieved, she couldn't take the chance of having a stranger move in, with Tommy's father gone. They would be like sitting ducks. She bore no arms. And knew nothing about self defense.
She was curious, she'd have to see if she recognized the man. She donned on a disguise, to hide her identity. When she saw him, her heart almost stopped. He was Tommy's father,
Only she knew of his identity. He was Thomas McCade, a navy seal in disguise, her husband who was missing in action. She wondered why he was here, was he here to protect them? Heaven only knew the truth!
The End

I am liking this, Maria, it's deepening and grabbing attention,

where had McCade been? why is he hanging around now? will he make himself known to Tommy?

Roll on Chapter 3!!! Well done, Mrs, Zy x

So happy to see you are enjoying my little tale. I hope I can find something gripping to take you on your way through a journey into my mysterious realm. So glad you are enjoying it. I will continue writing as long as the muse allows.
Thanks for reading and the compliment. I love telling stories, as you can see.

Maria not to spoil anything, but I had a funny feeling as to the identity of the man in the park, but this is getting very intrigueing.
Looking forward to the next chapter...Tony (potleek)

It came to me after I watched a documentary of Navy Seals and how tough they were. They were a deadly force.
So I have been smitten by the sheer force of the warriors. They got started years ago, they travel in small groups and always got their target. Thanks for your read and review. Glad you are interested in my story.
Thanks Tony.

thank you Mikhail, I am glad you like my tale about a man who lives by the sword. His wife and son is left behind to miss his presence. The absent father who is deeply needed.
