Indecision,

(possibly my worst trait)

What trait do I despise in myself?

I was going to say to say “indecision”

But I’m not sure that that’s the problem.

Seriously!

It’s the infuriating ability,

In any situation,

To see both points of view;

Not just the one.

So what’s to be done?

Should I take the left fork,

Or the right?

If I take the right,

That might be wrong;

But then the left may not be right,

Might make the journey far too long.

So what’s to be done?

I see a house across a lake,

But see no bridge

That I could take.

So should I strip and swim across the water?

One side of me would disagree,

Would walk around the lake, you see,

Arriving dry and dapper, like one ought’a.

So what’s to be done?

Think I’ll end this poem now

I’ve lost the rhythm, lost the rhyme.

Head in hands and furrowed brow,

So was this all a waste of time?

Oh dear, I am in the difficult position after 56 years of together and of observing the life changes from who we once were to the present and the indecisions now faced are more because of a deliberation that both your choices are or will be....the right ones.

Yes, David, and if and as your  worst fault....then there's not all that much wrong with you,

(I think, lol, damn this uncertainty  ) a cleverly worded piece, Les x

this is funny, and I have seen that indecision, or ability to see both sides .... genetically I sometimes too have that annoyance - I find that it causes others to think you are indecisive but actually probably often have very firm thoughts on how you want to deal with the situation instinctively, except you stop and try to see the bigger picture in case a little empathy, distance or something may be prudent ... sometimes causing us to actually miss the perfect moment for a swift handling of the situation!! That is also very annoying, ahhhh just found one of the many traits I would like to change and will try to write about lol Very good, humerous, rambling and very you :D x

David it appears that you don't really have indecision, it's more like you haven't quite made your mind up as to which way to jump, but when you do, yup you've just made that decision :)...Tony (potleek)
