It’s no good sitting and wondering why

Perhaps it’s enough to make you cry

But the thought isn’t that strange

Yes! There is much we would like to change

Most of us manage the best we can

We follow rules and the follies of man

But we are not in command

Do we really have the right to demand?

No matter where there is a real need

Underlying there will be some kind of greed

Penny pinching just to save a buck

Do we owe to life what we call just luck

In life there is always doubt

At the flick of a switch it can be snuffed out

At the thoughtless stroke of a pen

It all happens again and again

For a single life, today what is it worth

Is it because there are too many of us on this earth

Have we lost the ability to share?

For our neighbour do we no longer care

Has everything to be put down to cost

In this is the future of man lost

Can we save a heart ache or a single tear?
