Fantasy, Fact or Fiction

What I’m about to tell you is up to you to think whatever you like, but if you have the slightest thoughts that it could be possible, then yes it is true.

But if you think it is just fantasy or fiction then it doesn’t matter what I tell you, but perhaps you might just change your mind.

Long before I came to live where I live now I lived in a remote part of the country, it was just by chance that I met him but I came to look upon him as a special friend.

He had some strange habits; quite often he would drool saliva out of the side of his mouth and would always be licking his lips and the smell of his breath could make me turn away if ever he came near enough tome.

He also had a bad habit of scratching, for his skin was kind of flaky and you could see pieces drop from him every time he did scratch, he also had terrible eating habits, granted we all like different kinds of foods, that I understand but it was the way he ate, in fact he had no manners at all, he often made a noise when eating and quite often he would show what he had in his mouth by yawning at the most inappropriate times.

Then he would belch or pass wind that could turn the strongest stomach and could leave a nasty taste in the mouth, he even had a bad habit of blowing smoke in my face.

But for all this I had grown very fond of him, I went to visit him whenever I could, and he was always more than pleased to see me,which he showed in no uncertain terms, a slobbery kiss was more than anyone could stand. But I always put up with it.

The place where he lived was quite deserted; which in a way was better for him, for his looks were enough to frighten most people, he was now more or less forced to live in a cave down by the lakeside. It was well hidden, a little bit off the beaten track, at least this way he had less chances of being discovered.

For there are still people that what they don’t understand they tend to want to get rid of or hurt whatever they come across, and even for all his faults I never want anything to happen to him.

For he is one of a kind, in fact you could say he might be the last of a dying race. To be honest I felt very honoured being his friend, for I don’t think he had ever let anyone get close to him in any way, except for me.

I knew there would be a time when he would leave; for I had watched him growing and there were times when he went missing for a day or two, perhaps he would just fly off to somewhere exotic, not that I could blame him, for there must be more to life than living like this.

But until then it is a privilege to be his friend, after all who else do you know that has a real young dragon as a friend, and then who would believe what I’m telling you now. The only proof I have of all this is a photo that I took when I first met him.

Tony, I am going to 'believe' this one - he is soooooo cute, he would be welcome at my place anytime too - he is gorgeous and I love the mystery in your writing, wondered if it was perhaps a dog and then would revert back to a human and tried hard not to 'cheat' and Im glad I I didnt expect 'him' - he was a total surprise and made me giggle outloud! Thank you, fabulous! :)

Sacha thank you so much for believing, where he is now, sorry just cannot tell. Yes it would have spoilt the surprise if you had of peeked. But now I know you like that type of story, keep an eye out there just might be more in the future. Any way you best ask Charli about my fairy stories, your Mum used to read them out to her many moons ago...Tony (potleek)

Aahhh, I have to admit that I am familiar with this little chap from a while ago, Tony, but really well told, I enjoyed this tale of wonder, and, lol, that little girl I used to read your stories to in Worthing, is now an engaged 22 year old in a home of her own.

We have passed through some years, haven't we, Tony,  Zy

Zy I have to admit that this is one of my own favourite stories, quite often I read back through a lot of my own stuff. That way it kind of reminds me of what I have in my archives. Yes we do go back a few years and being honest it doesn't seem that long ago, doesn't time fly, so much water has gone under the bridge now. But when you see Charli next give her a kiss from me...Tony (potleek) p.s. She was my number one fan

Haha, Tony, I have to admit that my mind was running along the same lines as Sacha’s, because I thought it was a dog at first. I’m so glad I didn’t take a peek at the end, though, as it was such a pleasant surprise!

He’s just sooo cute, though!

I really must come down here more often, as there’s such a treasure trove here. Mountains of stories going way back that I haven’t read yet as I just haven’t had time! When I get some free time, I’ll definitely be paying the storyboards a visit, so you might find some of your old stuff being bumped up...

Lynn I've said it before on here, just don't know why anyone would bother to go to a library to get a book out when there is so much good stuff in both story sections here. Find the time, then tell me it was all worth it...Tony (potleek)
