Some day I'll be "prima ballerina"
If I work hard and long
My body will be lithesome
Graceful and strong

I'll be the pride
of my family
Who see gawky
No stability

I'll become a dancer
With dexterity
I'll be a prima ballerina
Just you wait and see.

Maria I suppose this is the thoughts of all the young ladies that take up ballet and very few ever make it to number one.
But as in life, if you don't try how would you know whether you could or not...Tony (potleek)

A demanding hobby/interest/ambition, Maria, so much effort and practice that one hopes

for the serious would be ballerinas...but as Tony says, unless they try...thanks, I enjoyed this, Zy x

Thanks guys, I loved the art work and the dreamy look in her eyes. Innocence has its virtues. When you don't know, and you work at something, you eventually get stronger emotionally and you accomplish more than you realize. Audrey Hepburn wanted to be a ballerina, but was too tall, but she did become something, by acting she achieved success.

You chose one of my all time heroines, Maria, loved her life story, admired her success but it was a fairly easy transition from an aristocratic  chorus girl in London (after the ballet) to her instant Hollywood success,
she didn't have to do much but be herself, the beautiful daughter of a Baroness ... and a rather upper class family.

Read 'The Early Years' section, Maria, I found it very interesting, Zy x

Hi Maria

I loved this. There was so much I wanted to do as a child. I went to ballet, only once I think, but I went! Lol. My Mum always said that I got bored of things too quickly - which is true, I do - and to be honest, I couldn't see well enough at the time to do anything that involved having to take my glasses off. So I was a slow swimmer, couldn't do gymnastics... But at the moment I'm trying to make a hobby out of relaxing more! :)

I liked this. I think kids needs to be allowed to dream more nowadays.

Thanks Zy and Fluff. I always loved to do things that was impossible for me to attain. I liked to dance, sing, become something. But never had the knack or courage to do so. So I chose the easier course. I got married and learned to cook, take care of the household, did everything. My husband brought home the pay check and ordered me around. I had 7 kids with him, took care of them and taught them to be themselves and independent. I finally got a job and learned more than I could imagine besides meeting successful people. I just worked and did what I had to, to make a living. Thanks for sharing and caring.

Did you know that Audrey Hepburn's father would have nothing to do with her? No matter what she did, he wouldn't acknowledge her. Poor thing, she was beloved by all, but the one that she wanted it from, the most.

That's why I sometimes include a link for interesting informaton and facts about something/someone, Maria,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audrey_Hepburn

this one tells you a great deal about her earlier life, family and her rise to stardom (and of course, her father)
particulaly half way down in the section 'Early Life', Zy x

Thanks for the link, I read it from top to bottom. She did lead a tumultuous life, very interesting.
