He walked alone all through the night.
A hunter, seeking fiendish delights,
Yet humans weren't the kind of prey,
For this man who had slept in his tomb all day.

For he really wasn't the evil kind,
Unlike his friends, who left nothing behind
As, when they hunted at dead of night,
They gave their victims more than a fright!

But Adam was different. Instead of killing,
He'd rather spend his time helping the living.
From humans and fairies to small leprechauns,
He couldn't help it. He was friends with them all!

He whistled a tune as he walked on by
Looking for his fairy friends high in the sky,
Or a lone little goblin who needed protecting
From the nightmarish things that he was expecting.

He came across Sally, a lone little girl.
Her heart was a-racing, her mind was a whirl.
He asked what was wrong. She said, "Mummy's unwell."
She's kneeling in the garden down by the wishing well."

They went to the well and what did they see?
A fair-haired young woman kneeling by a tree.
"I'm ever so weak." she said, "My magic has gone.
Stolen by the Witches of the Morning Sun."

"Don't worry," said Adam, "I'll see what I can do.
You just rest now. You'll feel better soon."
With Sally beside him, he went on his way,
Hoping to find them before night became day.

With eye of newt and milk that was sour,
The witches were gloating over Sally's mum's power.
"We'll cast our spells and have a ball,
As we'll soon be the most powerful witches of all!"

They cackled and laughed as they stirred the green goo -
'till Adam came in and made witchy stew.
He took what was stolen and opened the door,
Stepping out into the night once more.

They made their way back with the powers in hand,
Ready to bring goodness back to the land,
Ready to dance and play and sing
And dream of the joy that tomorrow will bring.

When Sally looked, she thought it was strange.
Where was the hovel? Why had things changed?
Her home was now a palace overlooking the sea
And filled with the smells of a delicious tea!

Though Adam thought the palace looked rather neat,
He only drank coffee, as he couldn't eat.
So, while others tucked in to their magical tea,
Adam turned to set sail across the sea.

Yet, his eyes were met by a wonderful sight
As he stepped out into the pale moonlight.
A wondrous sight for all to see,
As Sally's mum was a fairy queen!

What a lovely 'love' story, Lynn, I wondered...as really Vampires belong more in the Halloween forum
and here is for the fairy folklore, the mystical and the magical,

but you have made it twice as difficult by keeping yours in the 'nicer' realms of 'creatures of the night'...
I found myself smiling at the end, Lynn, well done, and great rhyming throughout,

half eight and breakfast time, lol, so will be back later today)

I wasn't intending to write a love story (Sally's mum wasn't interested in him), but I guess it does come across that way...
I don't know. Perhaps I've been watching too much Buffy The Vampire Slayer or something,
but I thought it would be a change to write about a friendly vampire instead of the usual fiendish creatures of the night.

Glad you both enjoyed, thanks Zy and Mikhail!

Incidentally, this was a straight-to-screen composition, so I'll be adding it to my files later.
