MY MENTOR FOR MANY YEARS AND INSPIRATION TO CARRY ON WRITING  in CYBER SPACE

image.png

REMEMBER ME

Do you remember me? my poetry site?

Whose poignant memories torment me each night—

Yes I read your poems! So fair to see—

But have you now forgotten me?

---o---

Do you remember me? And, if Death should come,

Close these sad eyes, and make this poet dumb—

Would you care what I meant this place to be -

Or have you now forgotten me?

---o---

Do you remember me? my dreams and hope

To save poets from beeb's slippery slope

Or - like dead leaves fallen from the tree,

Have you now forgotten me?.

Oh Les,

I remember Lincus so well and with great affection for all the guidance he offered us both in our different ways during the years before going to France. His advice, both practical and spiritual, was that of a sincere friend, though we never met in person. He would love this poem of yours, and will most certainly remember you.

I love the way you've written each stanza with complimentary questions on first and fourth lines;

the first asking "Do you remember me?"

the fourth asking "Have you now forgotten me?"

It's a beautiful poem, Les, and brought a tear to my eye, genuinely.

Im sure Lincus would be very touched at this meaningful piece, which, quite aptly is in a time capsule of his friendship at that time years ago and we have now just opened it up again today :) x

Thanks, David, yes, a friend indeed, (to both of us) and never to be forgotten...ergo,

may a time capsule pass on such meaningful sincerity by at least two decades later. (or even more)

I'm pleased you liked the wording,  Les x

Both mentor and friend, Sacha, oh that it would be as easy to come by others now and in the future....

intangibility only means that one cannot touch it, so maybe a time capsule could pass on air waves?

thanks, Mum x

Zy I never had the pleasure of knowing Lincus although I've heard you mention him before. Sometimes friendships drift apart but they leave a lasting affection behind that is never forgotten. Who knows he may even look in and read your thoughts in words. A very touching piece...Tony (potleek)

The computer swallowed Zydha.
Yes, honestly its true.
She pressed 'control' and 'enter'
And disappeared from view.

It devoured her completely,
The thought just makes me squirm.
She must have caught a virus
Or been eaten by a worm.

I've searched through the recycle bin
And files of every kind;
I've even used the internet,
But nothing did I find.

In desperation, I asked Jeeves
My searches to refine.
The reply from him was negative,
Not a thing was found 'online'.

So, if inside your 'Inbox,'
Our Zydha you should see,
Please 'Copy', 'Scan' and 'Paste' her
And send her back to me!

Oh, we shared these words and poems long ago, Tony, I have another beaut he wrote of the

12 Days of Christmas, but these suffice in showing that friendship could have its place in

valued times for the future.

He was a very nice person, Tony, genuine and a friend in every sense, Zy
