Tin of Time

It’s just an emptied biscuit tin

With space for… memories,

So, I’ll have a look around

Hey, what is all of this I’ve found!!!

Don’t take your pick of one of these.

We have explosives, just for starters

Then knives to make a butcher blush,

Nails and sharply broken glass

With detonating tools so crass

Don’t open this capsule in a rush!

I hope who finds this… tin of time

Keeps it closed on so much evil crime.

Zy sadly there are still too many of these type of tins left around, they banned certain types of missiles but neglected to add land mines to any list which causes untold damage to people. Not my kind of thing to put in a time capsule...Tony (potleek)

You speak of a time of conflict, Tony, a time when man killed man under the guise of war...

this would have to be a little more explicit in detail, about the times when people/children and all innocents suffered in the name of religious fanatacism or by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I pray God that a lesson is learned at some point and we can be seen to have had something 'worthwhile' to pass on , Zy

not many of us have a romantic view of our current world clearly hahaha - dark, but very good! I like the tin just having room for memories, that could be infinite :) x

Yes, Sacha, memories take up no space at all, but can give an overall view of what s gone by,

there's little I'd want to pass on to others beyond personal experiences.

It's been a strange time of tragedy and darker happenings, thanks for reading, Mum x

Yes, Les, wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to pass on one's memories? I've often thought along those lines, especially when I see myself as others must, a grey haired (?) old man, generally looking a bit nondescript, a bit vague, shabby even. If only those people could experience the wonder of my memories, of people, sights I've seen, things I've done during my long years, places I've been to all over the world.

Just an empty tin for memories Les, you're right, don't open it for all the other stuff! An interesting approach to Tony's challenge,

Dx

Could do with a glass of rosé!

Exactly my meaning, David,  the good things don't need to take up space,

and could be priceless in the art of recall.

What value love and friendship, thanks, Les
