I remember the day papa brought home the beautiful angel for our tree.
He helped me put it on the top of our tiny tree, for we were not rich enough to buy a large tree. The angel belonged on that tree, never to be forgotten. Daddy was gone from us to heaven after our Christmas together.
He had been ill for a long time, but there was a glow of life in his eyes that day, he knew that we would always be reminded of him on that very special day.
I could not take my eyes off her, and he knew that it would speak to me whenever I was blue.
Angel bright, I would call her. I was only a little girl then. I still take her out of her little wooden box that papa had built for her, with special sawdust and tissue to protect her, I'd speak to her, and in some way, I knew she listened. It has always remained a treasure of mine
Lovely angel, how could he have known that you would bring so much pleasure to me?
It is a prayer, a story, an inspiration to all who need hope, for angels are among us, they remain with us all of our lives.
Papa knew this, he is never far from my mind.

Maria you are closer to the truth than you might realise with this piece.
Strangely enough the fairy we used to put on the top of our Christmas tree was always given pride of place, without any particular reason.
It wasn't what you might call a pretty fairy, simply made perhaps the kind of thing you would throw away for a nicer one, but you see it used to belong to my wife's mother and I think you can guess the rest.
Yes there are angels amongst us and we don't always realise it until it perhaps come too late...thank you for posting this...Tony (potleek)

Many thanks to you Tony. I am wondering if Zy and David are ok. I haven't seen them in a while. Do you know, or have heard from them? The topping on the tree was inspired by the season. I am glad it brought wonderful memories to you. Blessings and peace, God bless.

Thank you for caring, Maria, we have had demands on our time which did not leave much for enjoyment,
but we are making an effort to free ourselves for the festivities...life and time is not always ours for the use of.

Like Tony, this charming tale brought back memories to us also, unfortunately, the tree fairy we bought many
many years ago is stillpacked in tissue in our garage in Ste Maxime, but she holds so many memories of so many
places and events in our lives that we have decided to use a starat the top of our tree here and will hope to be
reunited with our sentimental one in time for next year's Christmas (perhaps), a lovely story, Zy x
