Winter wonderland,
Crystal branches,
Blanket of snow,
Etched against gray skies
Fog and mist mingled
Frozen breath
Quiet and still
Mother nature asleep.

Maria although I dislike snow I just love snow scenes, infact I have one as my opening page on my computer.
I like yours better than mine now, as for nature being asleep, you'd be surprised at what goes on underneath the snow...Tony (potleek)

Thank you Tony, I love looking at snow from a distance...it not only is cold, but leaves you wet too...so I rarely go near it when it gets that deep.  Glad you liked the picture...I thought it was enchanting. I know that there is a lot hidden beneath the blanket of snow (around spring) I have seen blooms peeking from underneath it...thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts, Tony.

As you say, gorgeous from a  distance, but truely beautiful when untouched, Maria.

When I was growing up on the outskirts of Edinburgh, heavy and deep snow was around for
such long winter periods, often followed by icey nights before it thawed, brbrbr, but fun as  child, Zy x

When I first came to Idaho from the far east...it was traumatic. The snow was deep and the cold was terrible. I had to wear a heavy winter coat in the house...sitting by the fire to keep warm...it took me two years to grow accustom to the winters here. brrrrrr

Thanks for your response...yes, it is lovely to look at, "only."
