It's quiet all around
Only trickle of brook
Creatures are nowhere to be found
Awed by scene that astounds
Winter's harsh and yet
I'm drawn to it
Translucent world
Dense snow up to my knees
The sight of winter does please
A world
Of intense beauty
I walk away

From winter place
Boldly to venture without regret
I'm part of Mother nature's creation.

Hi Maria,

I have to admit to being unable to resist walking through newly fallen thick, crisp snow,

this picture is encaptivating, though one seldom sees snow this beautiful, it is lovely, as are your words,

David

Amazing how quiet it is, one can hear one's own breath and serenity is felt in a world minus the racket of the real world...it is hard to express the beauty in realm like this.

Thanks for reading and responding David...it always makes one day to know someone read and liked it.

You know its been snowing Maria when you wake in the morning, and even though the curtains are still drawn you can 'hear' the silence.. It use to be like that In Yorkshire where I use to live. I have to say that the first snow has a magical quality, but when it outstayed its welcome.. well I use to get really sick of it.

But your picture and words reminded me of when I was younger and couldn't wait to be the first person to walk in the virgin snow.

It does look quite beautiful... stunning poem

Oh, Vicki, it is beautiful...love your garden, I bet it is lovely during the flowering months...I can see why you got sick of the snow, getting it for most of winter does take away the pleasure of the white stuff...Thanks for your lovely response, and picture...I am glad you liked my poem, even if you hate winter <grin>
