Arriving, silent, with the tide, Seeking out a place to hide. Muskets loaded, held on high, Keeping flint and powder dry.
No shot, nor chain; no canon blast, To strip a ship of sail and mast. Silent now, its need long past, This canon, set in concrete fast.
Marine marauders, lost in time, With ragged rope they start to climb. Rattling bone on stone and rock, Piratical, skeletal, onto the dock.
Just silhouettes on moonlit sky, Invisible to the modern eye. Pirates, from a time gone by, Forever lost, to you and I. © deezee 2013 Could do with a glass of rosé!
