Autumn Recipe

Huge forest of oak trees arched in age

A goodly pinch of lightning bugs

Just a couple of pumpkins

Marshmallows & sticks

Half a dozen candles

A stacked bonfire

One warm sun

∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆

Hear the owls & critters about the camp

The sun lowering all warm and amber

Carving funny faces into pumpkins

Stack the wood in a nice high pile

Skewer loads of marshmallows

Leaves crunching underfoot

Sun reaching the horizon

∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆ ∆

Creepy shadows made by the setting sun

Spooky faces smelling of roasted veg

Bonfire spitting and crackling away

Marshmallows charring over fire

Heart is full during this time

I love this spooky recipe

Halloween Night!

Ah Sacha,

What a lovely picture to paint of hallowe'en night, but without all the nastiness that's usually associated with it; the visual form your poem takes is like a set of inverted trees, perhaps shaking out all the hidden witches and goblins and other "seasonal nasties" trying to hide and pounce on sweet innocents like you!

I love it,

dad x

Could do with a glass of rosé!

thank you so much both of you. Sometimes I drive home and it is still and dry, full moon and perfect crunchy leaves, excellent halloween weather :) then it is lovely and autumnal in the lovliest way, very cute (goblins and witches are still allowed) x

Sacha, I'll have a second go at commenting on this piece. (don't ask what I did with the first comment) A pleasant read to autumn nights without the bumps and things that dwell in the dark...Tony (potleek)
