A little old Chinese man Died on his sampan last night We didn’t know him or he us He died with dignity and without any fuss
Some will not give a second thought Or even take time to bother. But in the long line of people To us, he was still a brother
He wasn’t so different from all of us Going about each chore without too much fuss Doing the best that he can To try to better things for his family clan
But now he is sadly gone Perhaps he will be missed by more than one Just in case there is no one to note his passing Least we can give him is a nod of recognition

Time is the most precious thing we have, but we are the poorer if we can't spend a little time on a friend

Re:A Nod of Recognition Date Posted:24-08-2020 04:17Copy HTML An evocative write, Tony, giving thought to the man or simply those we have not met nor ever will, but in the scheme of things...are in fact related by the simple understanding of human nature. Sorry it has taken a little time to come in to this, but have had a busy time with appt.s etc and they seem to absorb much of the weeks free time for all of us.... good work, Tony, Zy Opposites exist by virtue of each other

Re:A Nod of Recognition Date Posted:24-08-2020 07:50Copy HTML Zy when you're not about I know there more important things going on.
But thanks for reading and commenting, this one is a thought that's passed through my mind a few times, but never quite got to write it down till now.
Sadly so many people pass through this world without the recognition they deserve for the service they've put in to daily living, yet effects many around them...Tony (potleek)

Re:A Nod of Recognition Date Posted:25-08-2020 03:10Copy HTML Hi Tony, I have to agree with Les' reply to this poem. We all have a life to live, often differing greatly, of course, but all are valid and important to that individual, even though we may know nothing of that person's life or the trials thereof. It's a good thought to give that "nod of recognition", Tony, David Could do with a glass of rosé!
