Hy Poets, I used Sound Recorder in our MSN site before,

but have since changed to a Vista operating system

and may be trying other methods, but I will  keep you informed.

I stored in Boxnet and tried simply lifting the ulr into the reply box here

and with my daughter's reading of 'I know what I mean' by me... it has worked just fine,

so once we have gathered, we can start our Audio weekend again, Zy

Hi, Zy. I've only toyed with audio before, but I'm up for giving audio night a crack! I remember seeing a guide somewhere on how to record, but I misplaced it. (It told what frequency etc to save as) Any idea where it is? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would find it useful.

Yes, we must get Audio up and running again, it was great fun and very interesting to hear the second dimension to the poet and their work, Zy

I have been using Windows Media Player, I don't know about any others.
So far, I have posted a number of poems successfully in msn, but only if under 1,000mgz.
I am going to experiment this week at using larger files another way,
but all assistance would be appreciated.
 
1...Open recording box and place at bottom of screen so you can open the poem file.
2...Now open the recording box again and select Properties from Tools.
3...Now select 16.000mgz and click ok.
4...Start recording, you can repeat again and again until happy within the same box.
5...Once satisfied, Save As 'file name' and take a look at Audio file to check its size.
6...Now open icon to import from file   and click on the Browser. Select file and Upload.

But...I shall be trying it out with Boxnet, which is simply a case of saving file
to hard drive file and/or Boxnet where it is so simple to pick up the url of file and post here.
I will add any new and helpful info before the weekend as I find it, Zy

Thanks, Zy. I found the following usefull for recording (taken from our archive), as I choose the wrong frequency the first time I tried and it sounded like I was a cross between Gollum & Sean Connery!

Sound Recorder overview

Using Sound Recorder, you can record, mix, play, and edit sounds. You can also link or insert sounds into another document. You can modify an uncompressed sound file by:

  • Adding sounds to a file.
  • Deleting part of the sound file.
  • Changing the playback speed.
  • Changing the playback volume.
  • Changing the playback direction.
  • Changing or converting the sound file type.
  • Adding an echo.

Notes

  • To record sounds, your computer must be equipped with a microphone.
  • Recorded sounds are saved as waveform (.wav) files.
